Report on the Distribution of Donations for Refugee Support

Report on the Distribution of Donations for Refugee Support

To: Venerable Dr. Ho Dhammarati

and Vietnamese Devotees

Subject: Report on the Use of Donations for Refugee Assistance

Dear Venerable Dhammarati and Vietnamese Devotees,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to provide a detailed report on the recent use of your generous donation of 200000 kyats for me and 15,000,000 kyats for the refugees who have fled the ongoing civil war in Myanmar.

Donation Details:

  • Amount Received: 15,200,000 kyats
  • Purpose: Support for recovering and rebuilding tents, as well as providing food, first aid, and shelter.

Usage of Funds:

  • Shelter and Tents: 8,591,500 kyats were spent on shelter materials. Our local committee worked diligently to help the refugees repair and rebuild their tents, providing them with a safe and secure place to stay, especially crucial during the rainy season.
  • Food and Medicine: 7,042,500 kyats were allocated to food and medical supplies. This included nutritious food to sustain the refugees and essential medicines, including treatment for children suffering from cholera due to unclean water.

Current Situation:

  • Rainy Season Challenges: The paths between locations are becoming increasingly difficult to navigate due to the rain. Some areas have unclean water, which has unfortunately led to cases of cholera among children.
  • Educational Concerns: As the new school year begins in Myanmar, many parents are worried about their children's education. The disruption caused by the conflict has made it difficult for children to attend school regularly.
  • Agricultural Impact: The refugees, who are predominantly farmers, are unable to return to their fields to plant crops. This has severely impacted their ability to sustain themselves in the long term.

Expressions of Gratitude:

The refugees and our local committee are extremely grateful for the support provided by you and your Vietnamese donors. Your contribution has made a significant difference in their lives during these challenging times. They are deeply thankful for the shelter and food, which have given them a sense of security and hope.

Conclusion:

On behalf of the refugees and our local committee, I extend our deepest gratitude to you, Venerable Dhammarati, and all the Vietnamese devotees. Your ongoing support has brought immense relief and hope to our community. We have completed the distribution of the donated funds and ensured that they were used effectively to support the refugees' needs.

We look forward to keeping you updated on the continued impact of your generosity.
